Changes to the insurance conditions
Here you will find answers to your questions about the changes in conditions

In the health insurance

Transitional care in hospital:
Due to a change in the law, transitional care in hospital was formulated as a new benefit of statutory health insurance. This now makes it possible to officially bill for people who are no longer being treated as in-patients but cannot yet be discharged because their subsequent care is not guaranteed. Our policyholders should not be worse off than those with statutory health insurance. For this reason, we now ensure that we pay for transitional care in hospital in tariffs with benefits for general hospital services in the same way as statutory health insurance.

Follow-up treatment:
We clarify that follow-up treatment can generally be included in the insurance cover if the tariff provides for this.

List of remedies:
Most comprehensive insurance tariffs have maximum amounts for remedies. We adjust these maximum amounts to the increased price level. We also supplement and update individual items in the list of remedies. In this way, we maintain the value of the high-quality insurance cover.

In the daily benefits insurance
Reintegration: We clarify that measures for occupational reintegration can generally be included in the insurance cover if the tariff provides for this.

In the compulsory nursing care insurance
As a further consequence of the last amendment to the law, the benefit amounts were increased. In addition, the list of nursing care/aids for private compulsory nursing care insurance has been adjusted. These changes are being made uniformly across the branch.

Can I object to the change in conditions?
No, an objection is not possible. The changes are made on the basis of § 203 para. 3 of the German Insurance Agreement Act (VVG). The independent trustee has approved them. The regulations will therefore become part of the contract on January 1, 2025 and are binding.
Compulsory private nursing care insurance is offered in a standardized form by all private health insurers due to a legal obligation. The insurance cover corresponds to compulsory social nursing care insurance (SGB XI). In recent years, there have been numerous legal changes that have affected the insurance conditions and the list of nursing care/aids. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2025.

Why are you sending me changes to tariffs that I have not insured?
You are receiving the changes to the terms and conditions because you have insured at least one tariff for which the insurance terms and conditions are changing. We ask for your understanding that you will also receive information on tariffs that you have not insured. Unfortunately, it was not possible to compile an individual list of the tariffs actually insured.
#accordion-element---service---faq---changes-conditions---correct-contribution-classification
Do I have the correct contribution classification for compulsory nursing care insurance?
Have there been any changes to your spouse's income? Or does your child's income now exceed the current income limit?
An important aspect for members of solidarity communities for whom the contribution to the solidarity community is reduced due to (imminent) need for assistance: In future, they will pay half of the maximum social nursing care insurance contribution.

You can find out which changes may be relevant for the contribution classification in the information sheet “General information sheet on compulsory nursing care insurance" here in this pdf.
